How I Live My Dream Artist Life

i've been thinking about what the dreamy artist lifestyle that I live actually feels like, and strangely enough, what first comes to mind is not a beautiful setup with expensive art supplies, but a beautifully quiet morning.

for me, it begins with waking up slowly, saying a little prayer, opening the curtains, and for a moment you just stand there, looking up at the sky, quietly grateful that you get to experience another day. There’s a soft morning breeze touching your skin, and you feel like your life is already waiting for you with open arms, because there is a sweetness woven into the smallest of moments.

and then you walk into the kitchen. Breakfast is never something to hurry through. There's golden toast with butter melting into every corner, bowls of strawberries and peaches on the table, honey drizzled over pancakes if that's what sounds delicious that morning, and a cup of tea or creamy cacao warming your hands while an old vintage film quietly flickers across the television.

there is something so beautiful about knowing that a comfort movie can become part of the fabric of your life. That a story can bring you back to a morning filled with tea and sunshine, and become a little home you return to whenever you need it. And maybe while the film is playing, you already start thinking about creating later, just because you feel inspired.

nobody is in a hurry, and nobody keeps looking at the clock. The morning stretches out like honey on warm bread, slow enough that you can actually taste it. Then, after breakfast, the day begins to unfold. There isn't any strict schedule waiting. Maybe you just put on your favourite clothes, grab a bag, and go for a long walk through the forest. The trees are quiet and tall above you. The air feels fresh and almost sweet. Your cheeks become rosy from walking, and every few minutes you notice something small: a flower growing beside the path, sunlight resting on moss, the sound of birds hidden somewhere above the branches. Or maybe it is a swimming day. The kind of day where you spend hours in the water until your hair smells like sunshine and your skin feels warm from being outside. The kind of day where you come home happily tired, carrying that lovely feeling of having spent your energy on something joyful. And oftentimes, the perfect plan is no plan at all.

sometimes we’re drawn to the library. I love the idea of libraries feeling like little treasure gardens. You walk between the shelves slowly, touching book covers, reading little descriptions, discovering stories that feel like they were waiting specifically for you. You might come home with an old classic film, a beautiful novel, a cookbook filled with buttery pastries and soups that immediately made us hungry, or a book you picked only because the cover inspired you.Every visit feels like packing a bag of tiny gifts to bring home.

sometimes, instead of going to the library, we drive to the sea with warm croissants wrapped in paper bags and mugs of hot cacao. The croissant flakes gently onto your fingers, the cacao tastes rich and comforting, and for a moment you feel like the luckiest person in the world simply because you are allowed to sit there and experience it. Maybe it is a swimming day, and you soak your body in the clean ocean water until your hair smells like sunshine and your skin feels warm from being outside. The kind of day where you come home happily tired, carrying that lovely feeling of having spent your energy on something joyful. Those mornings always leave me feeling like my thoughts have become honey again, slow and golden and wonderfully unhurried.

and after this kind of morning, you return home with your pockets full of inspiration, ready to create something beautiful. You disappear into your room with pen and paper, drafting your story ideas or sketching a character or beautiful drawing idea or just filling a page with dreamy little doodles while lunch quietly begins to cook downstairs, and the whole house slowly fills with the most comforting smells. Maybe garlic sizzling in a pan, fresh herbs being chopped, something warm bubbling on the stove. To me, knowing that someone is preparing a meal to enjoy later nearby can make creating feel even more peaceful. The sound of cooking becomes part of the atmosphere. The little movements from the kitchen, the clinking of dishes, the smell of food drifting into my room while I add another tiny detail to my drawing.

and then comes one of my favourite parts: sitting down for a long lunch together, eating big bowls of warm spaghetti, homemade soup, buttery lasagna, fresh vegetables, or whatever else sounds delicious in that moment. There is something so joyful about letting meals feel playful instead of planned. If pancakes suddenly sound perfect, we simply make pancakes and pour honey over the top. If somebody starts craving another round of tuna sandwiches, then we spontaneously make them, too. We love to enjoy a comfy vintage movie while munching our food. We often make a cup of tea straight after that and sit together for a little while longer. The kind of tea that tastes comforting simply because it is part of the ritual. Maybe there is a little plate of chocolates from the sweets corner beside us, and we each choose our favourite ones slowly, enjoying them like tiny treasures. A little piece of chocolate melting on your tongue, a warm cup held between your hands, the sound of a movie playing softly in the background.

after a long lunch like that, the afternoon feels wonderfully open. After a long lunch like that, the afternoon feels wonderfully open. There is no feeling of needing to rush toward the next thing, because the day already feels complete in itself. I think that is one of the sweetest parts of this dreamy artist lifestyle: the feeling that time is not something slipping away from you, but something gently unfolding around you.

we often go outside again, meeting friends, playing games, or going on another enchanting walk through the neighbourhood, letting the evening air touch our faces. Sometimes it is meeting friends outside, laughing and playing, feeling that simple happiness of being around people you love. There is something so refreshing about spending time with others when your heart already feels full. You are not searching for someone else to complete the day. You are simply sharing the sweetness that is already there. I think this is one of the things I have been noticing more and more: when you feel nourished inside, you naturally have more love to give.

when evening arrives, we come back home and the house settles into that cozy nighttime feeling. You begin tidying your little corners, changing the bedsheets and taking care of the laundry, folding warm, freshly washed clothes as the soothing scent of lavender shampoo gently fills the room.

0r we stay at home and do laundry, while there's a favourite television show playing in the background. We record films onto old VHS tapes so we can watch them again another day. We read books curled beneath blankets, and we spend quiet moments reading the Bible together. Maybe I put on one of my favourite cassette adventures while drawing, letting the dreamy stories and familiar voices become part of the room.

by early evening, it almost always feels lovely to go outside once more, just for a few more minutes of sunshine warming your shoulders and fresh air filling your lungs before coming home tired in the best way, with rosy cheeks and a mind full of ideas and happily hungry, knowing that there is a warm meal waiting for you.

dinner is another little celebration. We cook whatever sounds comforting that evening without sticking to any concrete plan. Calming soup with warm bread, creamy pasta, sandwiches piled high with delicious sauces and vegetables. And then we sit down again, just like we did at lunch, taking our time. We eat until we feel wonderfully full, watch another favourite film, laugh at the same familiar scenes we've seen a dozen times before, and somehow they still make us smile every single time. This is one of the things I love most about this dream life: there is so much permission to linger. To stay at the table a little longer, to have another egg with some salt because it tastes wonderful, to continue talking even after the plates are empty. To watch a film until the very end because the story feels comforting. There is a richness in these moments that has nothing to do with having the most expensive things or living the most impressive life.

as the day begins to grow quieter, the house settles into its evening rhythm. Books are returned to bedside tables, sketchbooks are gently closed, and the last cups of tea are poured. You spend a quiet moment in prayer, feeling grateful for the day you were given. There is something incredibly beautiful about ending the day with gratitude. A final prayer quietly brings the day to a close, and I climb into bed with that lovely feeling of being completely nourished. Not only by good food, fresh air, sunshine, drawings, stories, and laughter, but by the simple happiness of having nowhere else I wished I'd been. You have a heart that feels peaceful when you close your eyes at night.I think this is the kind of richness I have always been drawn to. The kind that makes you feel deeply satisfied.

i've been dreaming about a life that feels like a well-fed garden. A life full of roses opening slowly in the sunlight, bowls of fresh mangoes on the kitchen table, warm bread cooling beside the oven, sketchbooks filled with little drawings, old films playing softly in the background, and long afternoons where there is nowhere else you need to be.

the dreamy artist lifestyle is not about escaping into another world, but about looking at your own life and realizing how many beautiful ingredients have already been placed on the table. It is learning to taste them fully, to savour them slowly. To let your days become a little more like a garden filled with roses, sunlight, ripe fruit, warm bread, laughter, creativity, and love. The feeling of opening your sketchbook and knowing there is still so much beauty left to create. The feeling of closing your eyes at night after a full, nourishing day and whispering a quiet prayer of gratitude.A life that feels like a warm kitchen.A life that feels like a garden after rain.A life that feels like honey, sunlight, fresh fruit, roses, and freshly baked bread.A life that feels deeply, wonderfully, completely yours.

i think I have always been drawn to this kind of life, because it feels like coming home to yourself.

after all the creativity, all the laughter, all the food, all the little adventures, there is a moment of stillness where you can look back and think, "What a lovely day", simply because it contained to much goodness. I think that feeling of being held is one of the sweetest parts of this life. The feeling that you can wake up tomorrow and there will be more beauty waiting for you. More stories to discover, things to create, walks to take, meals to enjoy. More little moments where you suddenly stop and think, "I can't believe I get to experience this." And perhaps that is the sweetest dream of all: to wake up each morning feeling excited to live another day inside a life that already feels like a little piece of heaven. Over time, I imagine this feeling becoming deeper and more natural.

and maybe the greatest masterpiece we ever create is not something hanging on a wall, but the way we experience our own days.

and this is what I think makes the dreamy artist lifestyle feel so enchanting. It is not only about making art. It is about becoming someone who fills her thoughts with so much sweetness, that inspiring ideas naturally start to appear. And perhaps that is what happens when you begin filling your own life with beautiful things. When your days contain prayer, creativity, nature, good food, and moments of joy, your creativity naturally starts to spill over.

there is something so gentle about that kind of creativity. It feels less like pulling something out of yourself and more like letting something spill over.

perhaps the sweetest part of this dreamy artist lifestyle is that, after a while, the sweetness you have been surrounding yourself with begins to grow inside you too.

I think this is what the dreamy artist lifestyle feels like to me. Not a life spent endlessly producing beautiful things, but a life so full of beautiful moments that creating becomes almost unavoidable. My thoughts become honey because my days are filled with honeyed things. They’re slow, golden, and filled with sweetness. Sunlight on the kitchen table. Warm soup shared with someone I love. Forest paths. Library books. Chocolate after tea. Colour pencils waiting patiently on my desk. Old films that somehow never lose their charm.

your inner world starts becoming sweeter because you are finally feeding it sweetness. Your thoughts begin carrying the flavours of the things you love. A little honey from morning tea.A little vanilla from childhood memories.A little mango from summer afternoons.A little chocolate from celebrations.A little cinnamon from cozy evenings.

it's a buttery, sun-drenched little life. Well-fed. Well-loved. Full of roses, mangoes, fresh bread, sketchbooks, prayer, laughter, and long afternoons that never seem to be in a hurry to end. And perhaps that's what I've been craving for all along.
